How a copper profile is made
Manufacturing a copper profile is very demanding and complex. Because of its very high tensile strength, the copper billet must be heated to a temperature of approx. 800 °C before the forming process.
This process step reduces the tensile strength and ensures clean forming. The pressing and the high temperature cause torsion in the copper profile, which must be straightened mechanically after cooling.
